Germany is at a critical turning point: A shift to the right is becoming apparent, and right-wing extremist, populist, and misanthropic statements are spreading increasingly online—often unnoticed or even tolerated. This normalization of hate does not remain in the digital sphere but has actively influenced society in real life.

The short film presents an everyday scene: A man and a woman meet for an upscale dinner at a restaurant. What starts as a harmless conversation quickly escalates—the man begins expressing xenophobic, antifeminist, and populist views. The woman challenges his statements with facts, morality, and conviction. The striking aspect of this discussion is that most of the conversations statements are taken from real comments on Instagram and TikTok.

This confrontation makes one thing clear: Anonymity online should not be a free pass for spreading hate. Radical and inhumane rhetoric must be taken seriously and actively opposed. Silence means tolerance—and tolerance leads to normalization. It is up to all of us to draw a firm line before it is too late.
